Contrary to popular belief, there were a hell of alot of folks in the good old USA totally into this band. You really had to be from up North to really get it, however. I personally know every note and every lyric on this ENTIRE album... One of the soundtracks of my youth
Nature Of The Beast was so good, they couldn't even keep it in Canada. If only all well-traveled rock bands could be this tight and smooth. Jerry Mercer is the master of the monster drum kit, evident on this song.
Under rated classic rock band. You never even hear April Wine songs on the so called classic rock radio stations. What a joke! I wish I ran a classic rock radio station, I would blow peoples minds!
Teenagers of the cold war we were, looking for a good rocking time, we knew those were days that would not last, we lived them, we now appreciate how lucky we were to have these wonderful rock bands and songs that were meaningful in our lives... April Wine for everyone !
Navy Days! USS Enterprise...Attack Squadron 94...1983-85!!!! We used to rock this song out to the max! I left their mouths open and their tongues on the ground when I would rock this on my system with my Bose 901's! A black small town country kid from South Carolina....I could just as easily go from funk like Rick James, Parliament Funkadelic or Cameo and jump head first into some April Wine, Scorpions, Ratt, Ozzy, Journey, Loverboy, etc and not miss a beat!!....They nailed it on this song!
A lot of 80's dudes were inspired by this band...."Nature of the Beast"....was a needed twist in the road to rock at that time, their most creative album IMHO, ....too bad it didn't sky rocket them.
