It always hands me a laugh then a smirk, when people think of Carl Mann only in terms of Mona Lisa

Well, there's a corner on a street where everybody goes They do a lot of boogie and the rock 'n' roll They started boppin' the blues until daylight I said come on baby let's rock tonight We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll Well, I tell you now gal, we're gonna rock 'n' roll tonight Well, my tongue tied Jill is a beautiful dame I was goin' down town to buy her a ring I came to the corner where the cats were goin' wild There stood my baby, she was a dancin' in style So, we're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll Well, I tell you now gal, we're gonna rock 'n' roll tonight Rock! Well, my baby has been very nice She looks at me, I feel like I'm on ice But when I started rockin' to that dame Lord I never feel no pain We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll Well, I tell you now gal, we're gonna rock 'n' roll tonight Rock! Well, we're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll We're gonna rock 'n' roll, rock 'n' roll Well, I tell you now gal, we're gonna rock 'n' roll tonight

And you know, when I met Carl Mann he was the most honest unassuming guy you could ever meet.

Eager... yes, he was somethin' else... i also saw Billy, Charlie, Carl, Cash, Killer, Charlie, Ray Smith, and Sonny Burgess... Ray to me was the very best of the bunch... he & Charlie were, to me, the best singers on Sun...... including Elvis.

I've loved Carl Mann since I was 8 years old and heard Mona Lisa. I started collecting his 45s and finally got the Phillips LP.I He was a killer rocker! Eddie Bush's guitar was killer also.

Wow, another discover for me. I have a single of this song recorded on the late 70's and I believe it was from this time, not from the 50's

I’ve got to assume this is the same Carl Mann who did ‘Mona Lisa’ and ‘Pretend’ on Phillips International (which by the way are great rockers, helped to keep Rock N Roll alive in the ‘Dark Ages’ of ‘59 and ‘60), but it doesn’t really sound like him...
