Unfortunately Dandy Nichols passed away after the first series so they revised the lyrics
Now my old darling they've laid her down to rest and now I'm missing her with all me heart, but they don't give a monkeys down the DHSS and they've gone and halved me pension for a start, and it won't be long before I'm by her side cos I'll prob'ley stave to death that's what I'll do, for richer for poorer I'm bloody poor and that's a fact , In sickness and in health I said I'd do..
Brilliant song which used to open the sitcom "In Sickness and in Health", a sequel to "Till Death us Do Part", on BBC1. They were asked to write the intro for "Only Fools and Horses" by Jonny Speight, who produced both, but for some reason they never got it and John Sullivan's tape that he sent in to the BBC just as a demo version ended up being the one actually sung, though he can't sing, but he wanted Chas 'n' Dave to sing it. As my aunt would say, it's a well-known fact that not a lot of people know about.
