It's about a German Hussar who, on the battlefield, hears that his true love is dying at home and goes back to see her, right at the end, and bury her. Very sad, quite unlike the cheeriness of the song!

The song is something that should have been recorded within the 1972-1989 era under Christian Bruhn ("'c'-spelled Erica" era). But it was only discovered with Walter Geiger/Janine "Erika" Olsen.
