Get out of my life woman, you don’t no love me no more
I said Get out of my life woman, you don’t no love me no more
Get out of my life woman, you don’t no love me no more
Get out my eyes teardrops, I got to see my way around
Won’t you get out my eyes teardrops, I got to see my way around
(Get out my life heartaches, nothing but heartaches by the pound)
Get off my ladder woman, I got to climb up to the top
I said get off my ladder woman, I got to climb up to the top
Get off my ladder woman, ladder’s nothing to make you stop

GREAT interpretation . Allen Tousaint wrote it and recorded it first, Lee Dorsey added some improvements, and the Butterfield Band tightened it up even more. My favorite version! Mister Sam Lay on drums, everybody!
I loved Allen Tousant and Paul Butterfield before I knew what the blues were. I hayve been on the camp that says imitation is the sincereist form of of flattery. And so every time I see Jerry covering someone elses work, well, I gotta go dig it up. It's a dirty job, but someoes gotta do it. Poor me!!
Peace.

THIS was always a favorite...saw them in NYC several times...and always loved this tune when some decent bar band did it too. Just good solid old school stuff.
