Song is about a police detective who is called to a murder scene at a lake near a dock that has a famous whirlpool and he finds two victims: a man and woman swirling in it and they both appear to have smiles on their faces. He writes in his notepad the beginning of the songs lyrics on the things he finds as well as theory,ideas.It was the killers eyes who appeared like atom bombs. The killer hallucinates about dragons taking drugs.He looks down after he killed them and is disturbed that when he killed them they seemed so peaceful as if like doves.The detectives notices something sparkling --- the prize below(grave surprise) he then also notices how peaceful they are.In some parts of the song you see the killer with the rest of the citizens singing - "hell is your belief...." as he fades from the scene getting away with murder.Dexter Morgan loves this song.

everyone who knows about real music knows about bauhaus, love and rockets and echo and the bunnymen. jesus and mary chain is sort of popular but i dont like any of there music at all

A joyful song it is "Hell is not the fire, hell is your belief, in yourself as higher" means there is no hell: except if you want to believe in some "higher forces". It is up to you.

This is so gorgeous. It makes my heart hurt listening to this. Makes me think of my younger self, sitting in a dark room, smelling the night air, enjoying a cigarette and just zoning out into this song. It creates amazing mental images. Oh, youth, I miss you!
