Unfortunately both of these greats have passed away within the recent 2 decades - 2 greats.

When I was just a little girl with long silky curls Mama told me, "Honey, you've got more that other girls. Now, you may not be good looking but you'll soon wear diamond clips And you'll never have to worry 'cause you've got lucky lips." Lucky lips are always kissing, Lucky lips are never blue. Lucky lips will always find A pair of lips that will be true. I don't need a four-leaf clover, Rabbit's foot or good luck charm. With lucky lips I'll always have A fellow in my arms. I never get heartbroken, no, I'll never get the blues And if I play that game of love I know I just can't lose. When they spin that wheel of fortune all I do is kiss my chips And I know I picked a winner 'cause I've got lucky lips. Lucky lips are always kissing, Lucky lips are never blue. Lucky lips will always find A pair of lips that will be true. I don't need a four-leaf clover, Rabbit's foot or good luck charm. With lucky lips I'll always have A fellow in my arms.

Ms. Ruth Brown passed on Nov. 17, 2006. I consider her the Mother of Rock and Roll...Chuck Berry's Dad, with Sis. Rosetta Tharpe and Sis. Mahalia Jackson as Grandmothers; Louis Jordan and Roy Brown as Grandfathers...Joe Turner, Bill Haley, Ernie Ford and Wynonie Harris as the crazy uncles; and Willie Mae Thornton, LaVern Baker, Wanda Jackson and Ella May Morse as the wild aunties! Don't forget Cosimo Matassa and Tom Dowd in the control booth with Dave Bartholomew and Jesse Stone leading the bands, with Earl Palmer on drums and Willie Dixon on bass....with Benny Benjamin and James Jamerson in the wings ready to spell them, while The Clovers rehearse in the stairwell...somebody please let that Elvis kid in the studio...Rhythm and Blues FOREVER!!! (pant, puff)
