Oooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
Aaah-aah-aah-aah-aah…
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
(Hand me down)
When she was just a kid
Her clothes were hand me down
(Hand me down)
They always laughed at her
When she came into town
Called her rag doll
Little rag doll
Such a pretty face
Should be dressed in rags
Oooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
(Sad rag doll)
I’d change her sad rags
Into glad rags if I could
(If I could)
My folks won’t let me
'Cause they say that she7s no good
She’s a rag doll
Such a rag doll
Though I love her so I can’t let her go Oooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh…
Aaah-aah-aah-aah-aah…
I love you just the way you are…
Aah-aaah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah…
Aah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah…
Aah-aaah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah-aah…
I love you just the way you are…
I'm an old jar head 'Nam Vet...God how much I loved the Jersey Boys! So glad I got back home to the World...but not a great world now with COVID-19?! God Bless and America!
Oh, the good old days. I remember when I used to be able to sing along with their tunes, singing just as high as Frankie did. These days unfortunately I'd have to get kicked in the balls to go so high.
These guys and their incredible harmony embodied innocence for my generation. Catchy tunes with a huge heart. Anthems for the forgotten in our world, often. But mostly just fun music we loved. Thank heavens we had them.
I was born in 97 and I'm so in love with The Four Seasons. Their music and legacy will forever go down in history. Nobody makes music like this anymore!
While I always believed Frankie Valli's solo track "You're Ready Now," was his finest rock attempt -- and with tons of great hits that rivaled even The Beatles & The Beach Boys -- it's "Rag Doll" that has to be The Four Seasons most fully realized & beautiful song. "Sherry," "Candy Girl," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Dawn," "Workin' My Way Back To You," & the classic "Walk Like a Man," -- are all proof that this was no second tier singing group. I would have thought by now, at my age, I would have abandoned listening to this stuff. But, it was good then -- it's greater now. Greater because those melodies over the decades -- just didn't get tired. I asked a little girl at a picnic once who was about eight years old what her favorite song was....and she said "Sherry," by the Seasons. Even her parents weren't old enough to have known this song when it hit the charts. She discovered the song herself...playing her grandparent's 45's on an old record player.
