OMG .. saw them play this live in 1974 at the U of Idaho while I was on my "trip of a lifetime" ... 3 months and 13,000 miles in my Pinto Squire wagon .... then on to a 34 year career but still ... 70 years old now and 2 million miles later I'm still driving ... currently on a 6 week, 9,000 mile spin around North America. Life is good!
Reminiscing about the good days. My dad is the drummer on this song. He just passed away on the 3rd of this month. I was 4 years old when this came out, but it was one of my favorites. RIP Dad!
In 1975 when my mom was 39 years old, she was a fan of this group. She designed an outfit like the one the lady was wearing in this video and wore it to the annual ball. As a 10-year old kid, I believed my mom to be the most stunning of all moms. My mother died two years ago at age 81. I miss her dearly.
Oh yeah! Jr. High dance, 1973. 8th grade me gets up the courage to ask 9th grade Nancy Grab to dance . . . and she says YES! This is the song we boogied to. Wherever you are Nancy, thank you. From me and ALL Jr. High boys who felt unworthy of that unattainable girl of our dreams, thank you for dancing with me!
