This song is awesome, but at the same time it's so sad.

I'm 22 and just now dealing with (instead of keeping it suppressed) being assaulted when I was 15. I haven't heard this song in years. I needed this. Thank you.

I was bullied mercilessly, molested by one of the members of the church I went to as a child, I lost my dad to cancer, my mom made some really piss poor decisions after my dad passed. My younger years absolutely SUCKED. I wasted my life trying to hide, to get back what was taken from me. I hid in a bottle from 13 to 35. I guess what I'm trying to say is keep hanging on friends, it gets better. It got better for me, it just took a long time.

Looking at the comments and just astounded at the people that are only focused on pigeonholing the band and feel like they are obligated to criticize the style, and are completely missing the point of the song. It's sad that so many people are that shallow and/or entitled that they can't even pay attention to what's being presented to them.

Dexter, when was in high school, knew a girl named Kristy. The girl has been sexually abused and everyone knew it. But no one did anything. Dexter is the boy in the end who tried to do something. As we see in the final scene, Kristy went to find Dexter. The Offspring singer didn't do anything but now he wrote this song and it's dedicated to her as an apology for not helping her. Dexter Holland, you are such a great man!

I been assaulted when I was 12-17. During these years, It was tough as my father leave us because of another bitch. Well, times goes so fast. I'm 30 this years. Sometimes still need this song cuz no one ask me "are you ok?"
