Some great mute playing and a fantastic comp. I liked the piano and clarinet solos. Not a blues, however.

This recording was one of the first I ever obtained on LP, not that long after it first came out. It has remained at the top of my list of favourites to play as a solo for some 50 years. I still love trying to get that growling muted sound to be as close to Vic as possible. I will never get tired of listening to the original recording and I have it on LP, Cassette tape and CD. Such character and emotion in the playing!
