Happy Happy Birthday James Darren! You were one of the best of the guy singers of the 50s and 60s! A good actor too! I miss you on TV. I hope you are enjoying retirement.

The song was written by Gloria Shayne Baker who also wrote the Christmas song "Do You Hear What I Hear? Interestingly, that is her voice on Goodbye Cruel World and not a circus calliope. She did it on the demo and they liked it so she repeated it on the James Darren hit.

I was joking with my dad on Halloween that the 60s channel would be playing Moster Mash on repeat, but when we checked it was playing the ending, and whoo boy that was weird.

One of many one-hit-wonders from that era. This is one of my all-time favourites.
