There’s a blessing in a lesson
That we all must learn
But we hardly recognize it
When it comes our turn
Don’t you fight it, don’t deny it
Don’t you try to run and hide
It’ll only make it worse
It’s gonna hurt but don’t you cry
'Cause when you get knocked down
That’s when you find out what you’re made of
Can’t stay on the ground
You know you gotta get back up
For one more round
What are you afraid of
(What are you afraid of)
What are you afraid of
(What are you afraid of)
Time to find out what you’re made of
Gotta find out what you’re made of
Big and breezy, living easy
But what you don’t know
Round the corner there’s another
Trying to steal your soul
Maybe you didn’t choose it but the truth is
There’s a battle for your life
If you win or lose it’s up to you
Just know there’s gonna be a fight
When you get knocked down
That’s when you find out what you’re made of
Can’t stay on the ground
You know you gotta get back up
For one more round
What are you afraid of
(What are you afraid of)
What are you afraid of
(What are you afraid of)
Time to find out what you’re made of
Yeah, find out what you’re made of child
Find out what you’re made of, woo-ooh
So high when you were up above
Had it all but it was not enough
You said I’ll never be the one
On the ground looking up
And then down goes the champion
But just before the count of ten
He rises up to his feet again
Stronger than ever
When you get knocked down
You find out what you’re made of
Can’t stay on the ground
You gotta get back up
You gotta get back up, baby
Find out what you got
You never know what you got
Waiting down inside
Till you, till you sob a little
Till you cry a little
Until you get back up, yeah
We’ll find out what you’re made of
Everybody waiting on ya to find out
You gotta find out what you’re made of
This track is totally the essence of what it takes to dig deep inside yourself in the battles of sport and life. What a message delivered in the lyrics, music arrangement has that introspective in the testing of faith, will, and determination, to achieving victory in every facet of one's journey. This song should be on a soundtrack. That powerful of a piece!
I've listened to this song so much i can't sleep. It runs through my head over and over even when I'm not listening to it. It will take another week, after I stop listening to this song, for that crippling sensation to go away.
I believe Jonny Lang is worth every second.
He's so much better, sooo much better than anyone else (of his lineage, if you'll allow) at this. It isn't even a fair fight. I bet they all know that.
