I had just taken the Texas Bar Exam back in Summer, 2001 in San Antonio, Texas and had travelled to Houston, Texas to visit an attorney buddy of mine. As I sat in his upstairs living room, overlooking Shepherd Avenue in the West End part of Houston, I had been listening to MTV2 on the TV for about an hour, falling asleep with the boring, unexciting music that they were airing when I, suddenly, heard the INTRODUCTORY DRUM BEATS of this song. I was literally awakened from my slumber and was held transfixed by the ultimate power of this song. That kick ass song held me spellbound and I reflected on how disparate in quality and total appealability this song had compared to the other SHITE music being played on MT2. This song had such power over me the first time I heard it that it, first off, “shook me from my sleep” and then held me transfixed at its ultimate great beat and amazing sounds.
