In southern cal and espec o.c a lot of punk bands got labelled surf punk. If ya listen to the lyrics "i used to be a surfer from Huntington beach" etc etc. Most people who were fans of this band and were involved in the so cal hardcore punk scene were surfers or probs gave up surfin when punk rolled into town got more interested in fights and drugs. Thats what the songs about. I tend to call all socal punk surf punk it jus fits to me. The hollywood scene was more arty upper class pretentious. Jesus saves
