Sheffield Labs are the best vinyl recordings in history. Even when transferred to CD they sound great. Except the CD recordings are made from magnetic tapes that recorded simultaneously, because once the platters were worn out, they would have no more master. The CD has the hiss sound from the head/tape friction. These recordings are live, full band straight into the press platters. There are various musician errors that were kept on the recording. Sheffield Labs designed microphones especifically for these recordings. I believe DD (Direct to Disk) was the pinnacle of vinyl recording. The digital development brought a lot of practicality to recording, but the performance, the fidelity of analog has not met its match.
