Baby you look at me
And tell me what you see
You ain’t seen the best of me yet
Give me time I’ll make you forget the rest
I got more then you
And you can set it free
I can catch the moon in my hand
Don’t you know who I am
Remember my name
Fame
I’m gonna live forever
I’m gonna learn how to fly
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
I’m gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
I’m gonna live forever
Baby remember my name
Baby you hold me tight
Cause you can make it right
You can shoot me stright to the top
Give me love and take all I got
Baby I’ll return
To much is not enough
I can ride your heart till it breaks
Oh I got what it takes
Fame
I’m gonna live forever
I’m gonna learn how to fly
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
I’m gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
I’m gonna live forever
Baby remember my name
Fame
I’m gonna live forever
I’m gonna learn how to fly
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry
I’m gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame
I’m gonna live forever
Baby remember my name
*I REMEMBER YOU* { ...I Remember You, You're the One who made my Dreams come TRUE, A few Kisses ago... I Remember You, You're the One who said I LOVE You, too, I do, Didn't you? I Remember too a Distant Bell, And Stars that fell like Rain 'Out of the Blue'... When my Life is through, And the ANGELS ask me to recall the thrill of them all, Then I shall tell them, I Remember You... -Diana Krall/Johnny Mercer 1941 }
I remember you-ooh
You're the one who made my dreams come true
A few kisses ago
I remember you-ooh
You're the one who said "I love you, too"
Yes, I do, didn'tcha know?
I remember, too, a distant bell and stars that fell
Like the rain out of the blue-ooh-ooh-ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo
When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of it all
Then I will tell them I remember you-ooh
I remember, too, a distant bell and stars that fell
Just like the rain out of the blue-ooh-ooh-ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo
When my life is through
And the angels ask me to recall
The thrill of it all
Then I will tell them I remember, tell them I remember
Tell them I remember you

she's pianist by education and played piano professionally before starting to sing on stage. i went to her concert couple of years ago: she plays piano herself with bassist and drummer supporting.
It's a very long way from Frank Ifield - my very first record in 1962 - to this. A lovely version, which I've not heard before.
Just a quick question: does anybody know who the backing musicians are? At the beginning, where it is purely instrumental, it sounds very much like Pat Metheny Group. Don't suppose it is, but it's a very cool contemporary jazz sound, in a similar vein to much of his mid-period 80s material on albums such as We Live Here, Offramp and Still Life (Talking).
