I remember when he left Debbie Reynolds for Liz Taylor and what a "scandal" the press made of it. a real career-killer. nowadays when celebrities change partners like they change underwear, no one seems to bat an eye.
this was on the B side of the first record i bought back in 1956 the A side at that time was robin hood riding thru the glen but always remembered this side more for the fact that it blended more with rock and roll at the time pity he did not see that i think he would have een great at that sort of tempo still a great song in its time
I am saddened to hear of the death of Eddie Fisher. Eddie, you will be one of the all-time greats, IMO. You gave us so much. We love you and will miss you. Thanks for the memories.
This one came out about 1955. That was the first year Rock and Roll spilled over into the Pop market, starting with Rock Around The Clock. Eddie could have made it as a rocker with a smaller combo. He had the looks. Some of his old Coke Time shows are available for free watching at the internet archive and nerdytv. I saw him in person often in 1956 and 1957 doing his TV show at NBC in Hollywood.
