He made music history playing this sax the reason it was the first time anybody had a electronic sax. He would play at the Hollywood INN club on 6800 block on Halsted in Chicago IL. As I went to see him the jam a hot track for the times. Also another group played there many times Billy Larkin and The Delegates--Dunmore Music of Monee IL.
I have four dogs who, as dogs do, tend to lay around a lot. But not when this comes on. They are up and wagging. Not even dogs can sit still to this. I kid you not.
I was in the army, stationed in Germany then this came out. Best time of my life. I met some of the most fascinating brothers ever ( black and white ) cats whose like I would never met again. Harris music was prolific but I will always remember him for this track and his sensational "Plug Me In" album and all those cool cats I met in the army back in 67, 68 and 69.

Met him in the L.A. train station in 1987. I was 23 and in the Marines. He asked me if I was heading to San Diego and could I watch his bag for a few minutes. The train got called he got his bag. We got on the same train and I attempted to get off at the stop for Camp Pendleton but did not get off in time and got off at the next stop with him. I did not know who he was and we started to talk while I waited for the next train north and him for his ride. I found out that he was Eddie Harris and told him that I had his album with me. He was surprised that I had the record among my 2 Live Crew and Eric B. and Rakim etc records. He signed the album and invited me to come and see him play. I could not as I had to be in Hawaii the next day. Wish I had went. R.I.P. Eddie keep playing.
