Worked with them with Swift Kick another great Long Island Band at Detroit, Portchester in the 80's. Both Bands Rocked the House. When the Rats played Taking it to Detroit the Roof almost came off the place.
The Good Rats and The Beat Farmers - the two best bar bands I've ever seen in my life. Why neither became HUGE is still a mystery. Great songs, ace musicianship and vocals, and both knew how to entertain the F out of the crowd from first note to last encore. So glad I grew up with them as a vital part of life's soundtrack, and I'm still enjoying them today.
"Sucker me in like a Venus Fly Trapper" - now that's some songwriting!
Used to see them at SUNY Geneseo, Gentleman Jim's, south of Rochester NY, late 70's.
bought their albums, played along on guitar...
Love those crunchy sus chords...
So good! The Good Rats are great! Saw them live only once in My Father's Place, in Roslyn, NY, I'm guessing in the 80's? Those details are blurred for me, but they killed it and it influenced me enough for me to continue playing drums despite knowing "I would never be that good"...
High school memories on Long Island blasting our 8-track of this album in the car!!!!!! Best of time! So glad to have been part of that great era! The 70's. No offense but today's music in general SUCKS!
40 years Edward? Yea buddy. We somehow still alive. I wonder how I can still hear, TSister & Good Rats. (Good the more talented in this guys humble oppnion.)Both great L.I. bands
