This is my very first time listening to Gorguts. Nowhere near noise. How I look at so far, it's all the complex ideas in the world and put together in one album.
I can clearly hear structure.

The first time I heard this album was when I was 15. I came home afterschool, smoked 2 bowls and found this CD in my tias room. I popped it in and ill tell you, I had not anticipated how much of a just, unfathomable masterpiece this was.
I dont smoke weed anymore, and this album is still just as amazing as it was hearing it the first time. Took me a while to really get used to the sound since I was mostly fed Cannibal Corpse and Slayer, but y cant just learn to accept this overnight.

I remember first listening to this album and being absolutely blown away and left with a sick feeling in my stomach. Despite that, I was somehow drawn to Obscura again. Now it's a definite top 5 death metal album for me.
I also remember humming the riffs in this song. Sooo catchy haha.

It takes work, you don't just listen to this once and understand everything that is going on.
Listen and come back after a week. When you do get this album it's one of the better moments in metal.

Regardless of musical taste, if you still think it's incongruous noise then you are either not listening or are stupid. You don't have to like it, but it's literally not incongruous noise.

It always sounds like a "mess of sounds" at the first listen. First time hearing it - Honestly I couldn´t bear it. But upon hearing it again and again I hear new stuff constantly, that I didn´t hear before. That´s what makes this record so perfect. It just gets better and better for each listen. But some don´t get that at all though, your ears have to be used to distorted guitars/guttural vocals etc. to enjoy it. Idk what music you listen to on a daily basis, but its obviously not death metal...
