Thanks for downloading this, Mr. Bongo - brings back memories growing up - Harlem, NYC !  Was looking up who did the (didn't know it was a sample) Bongos & all on The Sugar Hill Gangs' "Apache", brought me here - am sharing... :) So, it was the Incredible Bongo Band that formulated & played all that awesome music (horns, bongos, drums - Wow !) May have known back in the day, just "slipped" my mind...These "youngheads" just DON'T know good music ! 

My grandfather MrBongorock Preston Epps has passed last thursday... His funeral will be on may 31st 2019

They sampled my grand dads song BONGO ROCK...and Preston Epps is still alive playing Bongos at 82 years young.

Memories of when radio stations in the UK started to lose interest in instrumentals, as you’d only hear this as filler in the run up to the news. I have a ghastly feeling that the opening few seconds were sampled for Timmy Mallett’s version of Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.

I helped run a pirate radio station in the 70's and this was used a lot. Pepperbox was the other one we used.

The potential of bongos is limitless.
