Even through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin
And constant (Constant)
Craving (Craving)
Has always (Always)
Been (Been)
Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls to what’s true
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom to its youth
Constant (Constant)
Craving (Craving)
Has always (Always)
Been (Been)
Craving
Ah, constant craving
Has always been
Has always been
Constant (Constant)
Craving (Craving)
Has always (Always)
Been (Been)
Constant (Constant)
Craving (Craving)
Has always (Always)
Been (Been)
Craving
Ah, constant craving
Has always been
Has always been
Has always been
(Has always)
Always been
(Has always)
Always been
At the risk of sounding weird, as a young college student I remember this song being played a lot, it’s good, but I remember being real jealous of K.D’s hair, that’s Great!
Even through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin
Constant craving
Has always been
Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom
To its youth
Constant craving
Has always been
Craving
Ah ha
Constant craving
Has always been
Constant craving
Has always been
Constant craving
Has always been
Craving
Ah ha
Constant craving
Has always been.
I know this song....
I mean, these lyrics really hit home for a socially awkward teen, who didn't know how to make connections all through school.
I'd just develope one crush after another, never making a true connection with anyone.
So this has a certain, nostalgia to it,
for myself, and I'm sure, other wayward souls like me.
Always wanting, what seemed out of reach.
I’m a straight women married 35 years to the same man and never had any girl crushes but I find KD Lang very sexy ! Go figure , lol and I do not have to mention her beautiful voice .
It’s a shame they don’t make videos like this anymore. Remember when you could put VH1 on and listen to this and so many other fantastic songs in the 80’s??
Why is everyone hung up on how she looks or that she's a lesbian? Sam Cooke once said
" a singer's voice ought not to be measured by how pretty they are. Instead they matter only if they convince you that they are telling the truth"
Stop criticizing her on how she looks and concentrate on the great song and voice.
I've known this song since my child hood but recently it has come creeping back into my life. I was seeing someone, it was short lived but something I will never forget. I keep hearing the song everywhere, in my dreams etc. Now I just correlate this song to that person. It's neither good or bad, positive or negative. I find this song hauntingly beautiful. & fits our relationship then and now perfectly.
