I was in love with Kenny Rankin before I knew who it was that I loved so much. When Helen Reddy recorded this song, I was completely entranced. Skip ahead three years: I am on a double date with a friend and I hear this guy on TV playing Silver Morning ... I quit paying attention to anything but the TV. Kenny Rankin is one of the the most underrated musician and jazz singers around. As far as I am concerned, he is the intricate lace in a world of burlap, the Singer Sargent in a middle school art show. Such a loss to the world that he is no longer here.
