Soft as the voice of an Angel
Breathing a lesson unheard
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers her comforting word
Wait, till the darkness is over
Wait, till our tempest is done
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow
After the shower is gone
Whispering hope
Oh, how welcome thy voice
Making my heart
In it’s sorrow rejoice
If, in the dusk of the twilight
Dim be the region afar
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over
Watch for the breaking of day
Whispering hope
Oh, how welcome thy voice
Making my heart
In it’s sorrow rejoice…
My son took his own life a few weeks ago.He could not feel that hope. My other son has been ill for a few years and now with cancer. Thank God ,he has hope for a better tomorrow. I listen to this song to renew my hope for my broken heart.
Brilliant song. Sang this with the Woodford Youth for Christ at a choir festival in 1958. What a blessed song, words and memory.
The joy of the Lord be with you always.
Stay safe,shalom
Hope with a gentle persuasion Whispers her comforting word: Wait till the darkness is over, Wait till the tempest is done, Hope for the sunshine tomorrow, After the shower is gone... Really touche deep down the heart.....
Soft as the voice of an angel breathing a lesson unheard
Hope with a gentle persuasion whispers a comforting word
Wait till the darkness is over wait till the tempest is done
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow after the darkness is gone
Whispering hope oh how welcome Thy voice making my heart any sorrow rejoice
If in the dusk of the twilight dimmed be the region afar
Will not the deepening darkness writin' the glittering star
Then when the night is upon us why should the heart sink away
When the dark midnight is over watch for the breaking of day
Whispering hope oh how welcome Thy voice making my heart any sorrow rejoice
A very beautiful sacred inspirational gospel hymn written by an American song writer in 1868. Septimus Winner was a self-taught writer, musician and teacher who wrote about 200 songs during his life time (1827-1902). He was a very prolific writer who wrote poems, sheet music, comedy and ballard , too.
Soft as the voice of an angel
Breathing a lesson unheard
Hope with a gentle persuasion
Whispers a comforting word.
Wait, 'till the darkness is over
Wait, 'till the tempest is done
Hope, for the sunshine tomorrow
After the darkness is gone.
Whispering hope,
Oh how welcome Thy voice
Making my heart
In it's sorrow rejoice.
If in the dusk of the twilight
Dimmed be the region afar
Will not the deepening darkness
Brighten the glittering star.
Then when the night is upon us
Why should the heart sink away
When the dark midnight is over
Watch for the breaking of day.
Whispering hope,
Oh how welcome Thy voice
(Making my heart. In it's sorrow rejoice) 2x.
It feels so good listening to such a well organised song. God is pleased when we worship Him an organised manner. Let us always do a well organised music and give praise to our Heavenly Father.
