Seriousely dreadful. No legato - just barking out phrases. Ham acting with rolling eyeballs a la Long John Silver. No understanding at all as to why Verdi opened on a monotone> Embarrassing and dreadful!

TO BEGIN, THIS A LIVE PERFORMANCE , FILMED CLOSE CAMERA . DEL MONACO IS DELIBERATELY EXAGGERATING HIS EYES, GESTURES, MOVEMENT. HE IS PLAYING TO THE REAR OF THE ORCHESTRA AND REAR OF BALCONY. TO THEM, BECAUSE OF DISTANCE DOES NOT APPEAR EXAGGERATED . IT APPEARS TO US VIEWING FROM, CLOSE CAMERA, OVER ACTING. IN PERSON HIS PERFORMANCE IS MAGNIFICENT. I HAD THAT IN PERSON PRIVILEGE, SEVERAL TIMES.
