I remember taping this too back in 95....was it really so long ago...?! lol. top band, cruelly overlooked when you consider oasis have been knocking out the same shit for fifteen years and are hailed as some kind of genius...oh well....theres no justice sometimes!

Who says they are not famous? Marion got one big loyal fan here from the far north-eastern corner of India and that is me. I may be the only fan of theirs in the country but who gives a damn! The music is great and Jamie is a real corker.

Time has been very kind to this band like many have mentioned I still too listen to their two albums . The Smile is an incredible stadium anthem that never was, scrap that , Marion were the great stadium band that never was As years gone by you can see how at odds they were in regards to being termed “ britpop “ they different in ambition , scope etc To me they could have been part of the classic British band lineage would never equate them with Sleeper or echobelly I have soft spot for Menswear lol but their music was unashamedly of the moment frivolous where Marion had that depth Harding whether in a chippy or drinking a shandy is a rock star regardless of units shifted I don’t know if part of their legacy , narrative is that they squandered their talent burning fast and in a way has worked leaving it to those old records to do the talking . God I am forty and remember watching this at fifteen

They just had that something extra and a special quality that was way above most of the other indie / britpop band's were all very samey in a nutshell

I love this song. The bass on this performance is 100 times better than that on the album.

Dance like nobody's watching with this song. I use to listen to them even now and still one of my fave bands. I feel young with them.  I was so so naive I used to cut my hair like Jamie for years and sometimes I still do.
