And if before my time I decide to take my life You could take these treasures And pull them up into light Erik you are making me cry and he is right on about this And my grave will be showered With the latest in flower power And the freaks will drive by my street And cry and sing and dream we will shower your grave and keep every paper you ever scribbled on whether you make fun of us or not the love is real

I can't believe Erik died... I'm just in shock. All I want to do is enjoy the gifts he left us; this amazing, beautiful music. He showed me folk punk, and showed me that music could still be pure and honest. Rest in peace, brother.

"When the tape slows down it means the battery's dead, May your songs never get stuck out of my head. If I ever fall asleep I remember my dream Where everybody's there and nobody leaves." (Departure Arrival.) May your songs never get stuck out of my head Erik.

I love mischief brew. They know our pains. This song reminds me a little of "They Might Be Giants."

I heard the news a few minutes ago on a train from Paris to Amsterdam. The first time I listened to Mischief Brew, my thighs were criss-crossed with scars from an exacto knife. This music gave me a real sense of hope. I know that even though my hero may be gone, his music lives on to keep me going. RIP Erik.
