I’m telling you a story now
Of something that’s wrong
This has been developing
Since 1981
Maybe she’s alone
Maybe she’s alone
What can I do?
What can I do?
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
If I’m a proper Jewish boy
Will her family love me?
Can’t stand to see her on the big stage
And know she’s not thinking of me
Maybe she’s alone
Maybe she’s alone
What can I do?
What can I do?
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
Maybe she’ll be hearing this
But probably she won’t
Possibly she has desires
But probably she don’t
Maybe she’s alone
Maybe she’s alone
What can I do?
What can I do?
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
There’s nothing
Nothing
There’s nothing
I can do, yeah
Maybe she’s alone
Maybe she’s alone
What can I do?
What can I do?
What can I do?
What can I do?
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
There’s nothing
There’s nothing
There’s nothing I can do
I listened to this song so much when I was a young teenager... I searched natalie portman in a p2p (I think Ares or Limewire.. those were the days) and Ozma's song came up.. I became a fan since then.
That's nuts that ESPN (Grantland) did an article today that actually references this song. So random. I wonder how many other sports fans reading are geeks like me who actually know Ozma -- I still have all my concert T-shirts.
for anyone that cares, I've spent many a year thinking exactly what this song is about. my interpretation is the unattainable woman, the one out view from afar. maybe you see her running everyday, maybe she's your local Barista, maybe she's Natalie Portman. but in any case, there's nothing you can do to get this woman, you'll never gave what it takes. his final "there's nothing I can do"s end the song so perfectly. music is not made this way anymore bois, enjoy the greatness.
I started listening to Ozma in '03 when I was 27 years old. So, I can't relate their music to junior high heartache or anything like that. It's more associated to when I first got married and my oldest son was born. My favorite band of the last 10 years easily.
it took a long time for me to be convinced that ozma songs weren't actually weezer. It's not a putdown at all...but omg these guys sound so much like weezer.
i know i'm pathetic but this song and a lot of other OZMA songs remind me of highs chool and heart break, and actually make me feel like i've freshly gotten my heart broken. it's kind of a sonic association thing and i mean it in a good way.
You have to look at this band as Weezers long lost twin brother, not as a rip off. Someone already mentioned that Rivers named this as one of his "must listen albums". Back in 10th grade I drove down to university of rhode island (shit, that was 2001, I feel old as hell right now) to see weezer play in the gym. The openners were saves the day... and OZMA! who I had never heard of. They opened with battlescars and I've been a mega-fan since.
I just saw Ozma play a show with The Rentals and We Are Scientists the other day...I had never Ozma before, but since then I can't this song out of my head.
