This entire album from cover to cover has aged like a fine wine. It keeps getting better the more I listen to it.

Ray Lamontagne seems to be on a Vision Quest.. If you can't respect that then I can't help you. He's an artist he don't look back.

You guys are bugging. This song is what we call, "Baby making music' because of the vibe. his voice is like butter. Who cares if he switches his style up. He wants to evolve whether you are feeling it or not. I love his voice.

Is it just me or does the chorus sound very pink floyd-esque?

From my point of view, the first time I heard of and got into Ray's music was 'Supernova'. If it wasn't for that record, I might not have bothered really. 'Supernova' was a sonic delight that you don't hear too often in today's records. I dig this song as it somewhat follows a similar sound from 'Supernova', but has a bit more of a Hendrix vibe to it. I don't see how he's become too commercial, if anything, he's mixed it up, and made things more interesting. Good job on this song, Ray. I can't wait for the new record!

Some of us (are perhaps raised to) have an impression that an artist is making music for us. Music isn't a "customer is always right" business, it's an art. I'm glad Ray is changing things, I'd hate to see him in an endless rut the likes of an Everclear or Offspring. What he did in 2004 can only be charming so many times before it's just formulaic. If you don't get sucked into your own prejudices, you can hear the same old Ray LaMontagne with all of his talents in this release, and I think it will be his best since Gossip. I'm even optimistic it might be better.

One helluva song.  Instant addiction.  Love the guitar work.  Vocals, harmonies, lyrics.  DAMN!

I love that he's moving around genres. You can only do one thing for so long. The music will evolve, just like the performer. His last tour must have been hell, kind of like when Dylan went electric (not comparing him to Dylan, just the situation). But as Ray evolves, the music can only get better. Can't wait to hear you on the road with My Morning Jacket, Ray! Peace!
