A fan of S&G since I was a kid. I’ve heard the Bookends album dozens of times and this song isn’t on it. This is the first time I’ve heard it. I’m 61.

I wonder if this was recorded during "Bookends"? Or possibly written much earlier? It's much more immature than the album. Although the bridge sounds a lot like Paul's 70's stuff..thanks for the upload!

Wouldn't quite be the same shaking our booty to this at Wigan. I told everyone P.Simon wrote it but nahhh! This is how bit it was - in '74 it was being played 5/6 times a night at Wigan and selling for £7 which was dear for a tune back then. My how times changed.

this song is on the 'bookends' album. it's a very interesting song. the lyrics and the way it's layered at the end leaves the listener quite open to interpretation, i feel. i've tried to figure it out and i can't. it fascinates me.

Just bought the single (UK CBS 2911Demo) and You Don't Know is the 'A' side with Fakin' it the flip.

As a young lad decades ago, I used to see sheet music for this song in a Paul Simon songbook. I'm delighted to hear it at last!

From what I've read it wasn't on an album but it was released as the B-Side to "Fakin' it" So it is from the Bookends period.

I didn't know that I knew so many of their songs, but this is my favorite. all the others are so overplayed, I even choreographed to bridge in high school. it's so wonderfully short and upbeat

A different very different, hotter mix of the song, in mono, was the b-side to "Fakin' It". Very much worth finding.

Very reminiscent, in many spots, of the song "Hazy Shade of Winter" - that 12-string. Signature Paul Simon early sound - great cut. Thank you for uploading
