Sonny recorded this in 1960 for NRC label. This is after he left Capitol Records in 1959, due to very poor marketing on there part. Sonny started off as a country artist, but after the sucesses of Young Love, they attempted to market him as a rock and roll artist, thru several singles. Then they attempted to market him in the pop music market with the LP "Honey" in 1958, which made Sonny sound like a lounge singer. As we all know, he returned to country music with a fresh start in 1963. The rest is history!
Since I was a child I have loved rock'n'roll, country, folk, rhythm and blues and the glorious instrument guitar. It is now in my late years, nearly exhausted and jaded, that I know and am so thankful for wonderful Sonny James. Up there with Buddy Holly and Sam Cooke. Thanks to the one that posted.

You Da Man--I've been looking for this since I first joined u-tube . Thank you so much for posting it . The Country Gentleman had hits in both Country and Pop with the same songs .
Definately 5 Stars and Favorites .
Oh how short has been this evening
Since my date with you began
Oh how long will be tomorrow
I wish this night would never end
Short has been the stroll to your house
With you walking hand in hand
Long will be my homeward journey
I wish this night would never end
Every step that we take brings us nearer
To your door where this evening will die
Every tick of the clock, every beat of my heart
Brings us closer to saying good bye
You are warm and yielding, as I hold you
My lips find yours and they blend
Let's linger here upon your doorstep
And wish this night would never end
Every step that we take brings us nearer
To your door where this evening will die
Every tick of the clock, every beat of my heart
Brings us closer to saying good bye
You are warm and yielding, as I hold you
My lips find yours and they blend
Let's linger here upon your doorstep
And wish this night would never end
Yeah, I have uploaded Ral's version also, I actually saw him sing this song in person, 1961 I think it was. I prefer Ral's version also, maybe because I heard him sing it first.
