just came from listening to the classic johnny mathis version. loved the song since i was in high school. hadn't thought of it for a long time. listened to johnnys version about 4 times and then decided to just see who else might of done this magnificent song. whoever those someone else's were, i didn't expect they could touch the johnny mathis version. i just wanted to see who had tried..............i was very surprised to see tammy wynette on the list. i love her country. wondered what she would do with it..........WOW!!! what a magnificent interpretation!!!............really sensationa!! she is so-o good with it. so heartfelt. made me wonder what she could have done with many of the famous standars and torch songs if she were just to sing them straight up like this with minimal country flavor or no country at all....really , really impressive. perfect vocal with so much emotion....WOW! AGAIN!
