This band could compare with America's best for precision, drive and sheer swing. Magnificent! It also, in this writer's opinion, kept the big bands alive and popular in the UK long after they had died a death in their homeland.

I couldn't agree with you more, Colin. I'm 65, and my dad raised me on this man's music. It was an education in arranging. And this piece is my favorite rendition of One O'clock Jump. Amazing syncopation of saxes and trumpets starting at 2:55. God Bless.
