Reminds me of my first girlfriend - Kim - if you can call female friends at age 12 a girlfriend. I remember going on a rollerskating date with her - mom drove. Lol. We snuck out of our houses in the middle of the night and got caught by our parents - grounded for a week. Wonder where you are now. Miss those days and the great music back then.
Im 48 and only heard this song for the first time a few years ago. So me loving this song has nothing to do with nostalgia and being from that time period. This is just a great song and I love how these guys voices boom.
Okay all u justin beiber, keyne west lovers, sit up and take notice. This is what great music was from the magical 70s. Yes great music was so in abundance that we simply didnt think it would ever stop, and now, christ, everything is just a refurb, or rehash, or their version of what the great music was.. Unbelievably sad that rock died in the late 80s ....forget the 90s total write off, and this era, even worse..not being sentimental honestly, christ the seventies .motown, rock, blues, class.
I suffered from terrible separation anxiety as a kid. Some afternoons when they'd left me with a babysitter, I'd sit in the living room and listen to this on some radio station on my dad's stereo. I'm not sure why but it comforted me.
Since you're just discovering the The Grass Roots, I suggest you also try "Heaven Knows" ; Midnight Confessions" ; "Temptation Eyes" and "Wait a Million Years." They (The Grass Roots) had so many great, great classics. Their lead singer is Rob Grill (top left, in the photo)
