I have all of HR's records...LPs and CDs... Love this guy's playing... NO one sounds like Howard Roberts...

One of my favorite guitar players ever. That dude has probably the classiest jazz sound ever. and that guitar solo is absolutely perfect.... This is when he used that famed black guitar, the l150 he bought from herb ellis.

Luv this tune....not just HR who is awesome but there was some very TASTY Hammond B3 along with it. NICE!

Neil Hefti + HR = BLISS. HR was one of the very best soloists in jazz, to this day.

I heard this rendition on the radio last night and searched high/low for it. ( I didn't get the artisit's name, but I do this is it.) Girl Talk is one of my favorite and this rendition is one of the smoothest (soft and spicy).

the first time i heard this, i just loved it. the flow, the phrasing and just how it sounded like backgorund for two chatty kathys

I miss the ultra lounge series. Heck, I miss hanging out at the Niagara or Babalu with a Manhattan in my hand, styling shoes on my feet and a sway to my soul.

My reference was Kenny Burrell's rendition ....and now I can add Howard Roberts in the same field : tasteful bluesy lines and gorgeous tone .
