There is no way out
I am stuck here behind the window
Tangled in the wires and burned by electricity
And there’s no place left to go for me
And there’s no way out for me
No way out, no way out for me
I try to get to my feet
Feels like I’m glued to my seat
I try to crawl through the door
Feels like I’m nailed to the floor
No way out for me
No way out, there is no way out for me
Stranded in the great vast wasteland of my TV
And there’s no place left to go for me
And there’s no way out for me
Somehow I don’t feel the same
I can’t remember my name
If there was only a chance
To struggle out of this trance
No way out for me
No way out, there is no way out for me
No way out
I am stuck here behind the window
No way out for me
No way out, there is no way out for me
There is no way out for me
And there’s no way out for me
No band ever wrote a song like 'What Do You Want From Life?' (from The Tubes debut album) which said what it said up to that point or since. They were Kafka, Hunter S. Thompson and Vonnegut with musical instruments.
I used to listen to this album in my dorm room in college, I loved it! I listened to it constantly driving my friends crazy. Thanks, I wish it were on iTunes.
What can I say about the tubes back in the day my most favorite band ever I'm proud to say that I've seen them well over 30 times with great songs like White Punks on dope what do you want from life they were excellent Showmenand musicians and of course their Wild on stage antics you never knew what to expect from them that's what made the Tubes so great nobody can put on a show like The Tubes nobody ever will or has been as original as the Tubes they were a one of a kind band with one of a kind music I will always love these guys Fee ,Bill,Roger,Vince.Michael, Prairie, mingo, and Re styles I love you all you were the greatest
I played this tape over and over and over and over driving in my Citation X-11. Saw these guys at Great America Gurnee around 1985 or so. They were staged on a flatbed trailer, I expected very little after seeing that, they kicked ass on another level. The choreography was outstanding, left me speechless.
This whole album and "principle" are both great and relevant parts of the tubes catalogue of classic songs....i get chills listening to this song..... get past the pop hooks and they fucking rock!!
Don't forget how much airplay "She's a Beauty" got. If their record label had had the brains to follow with Out of the Business and Tip of My Tongue, these guys would have been huge. Instead, the brain dead label turned its back. No shortage of sad stories of how bands got screwed by labels back in the day. Now you get screwed by Apple and Pandora instead. I strongly suggest that all musicians sell their music ONLY from their own site, and we all buy our music ONLY directly from the artist(s).
