This was actually the final Turtles single to be produced by Bones Howe. With the next release, "Happy Together", Joe Wissert took over production duties, as Howe had left to produce The Association.
If this was released as the follow up to You baby I guarantee you it would have been a much bigger hit then it was. A lot of artists at that time were having big follow up hits that were basically slight rewrites of their first hit (Four Tops with I can’t help myself and Same Old Song. Kinks with You really got me and All day and all of the night) this was a similar sounding song to You baby, it was similar sounding enough for it could have been a successful follow up to You baby but instead the Band followed up You baby with Grim Reaper Of Love, a song that didn’t sound like a hit at all to me when I first heard it. This song sounds way more like a hit to me then Grim Reaper Of Love
