I’ve got a picture of your house
And you`re standing by the door
It`s black and white and faded
And it`s looking pretty worn
See the factory that I worked
Silhouetted in the back
The memories are gray
But man, they`re really coming back
I don`t need to be the king of the world
As long as I`m the hero of this little girl
Heaven isn`t too far away
Closer to it every day
No matter what your friends might say
We`ll find a way
How I love the way you move
And the sparkle in your eyes
There`s a color deep inside them
Like a blue surburban sky
When I come home late at night
And you`re in bed asleep
I wrap my arms around you
So I can feel you breathe
I don`t need to be a superman, ah ah
As long as you will always be my biggest fan
Heaven isn`t too far away
Closer to it every day
No matter what your friends might say
We`ll find a way
Now the lights are going out
Along the boulevard
The memories come rushing back
And it makes it pretty hard
I`ve got nowhere left to go
And no one really cares
I don`t know what to do
But I`m never giving up on you
Heaven isn`t too far away
Closer to it every day
No matter what your friends might say
Yeah, we`re gonna find a way
Heaven
Whoa oh, oh, oh, oh
Heaven
Whoa oh, oh, oh, oh oh
Heaven
It`s not too far away
Eh yeah
It`s not too far away
It`s not too far away
It`s not too far away
It`s not too far away
It`s not too far away
No matter what anybody says ..... the 80s had the best rock ever produced. These hair bands were amazing and I'm glad I was a teenager in such a great period in time!.
Damn it’s 2019, and I still love this song. I’m 44, and a class of 1993 graduate. This song immediately takes me back to 1989. RIP Jani. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since you left us.
Miss the 80's, the cars, the music, the normal people, the normal America , the hair styles. Life was so easy and laid back. Nobody got offended over little things. People hanging in the mall's on the weekends, arcade's. Now everyone is buried in their smart phone's. I stay in my garage working on old car's, listen to 80's music. I can't stand being around this new generation.
I think it was 89 when I first heard this song, my girlfriend and I loved it so much! We bought the record and track. Best money I ever spent, this was our wedding song, it was July 8, 1990, she died a few days later in a car accident, this still pains me every time I hear it, best-worst year of my life, I cry every time, RIP JULIA you will be missed, I haven’t heard this song in so long and it brings back so many memories/flashbacks, those days will never end, I’ll be there soon Julia, I hope your ready for when I come to you, in some time we will be reunited in heaven, may you be blessed
This song truly makes me miss the 80's. I don't give a damn what anyone says, 80's hair bands were amazing! Music had feeling and emotion back in the day.... sadly, the same CANNOT be said for the music of today...
