All your hidden faces
Your seven veils unfold
Give me forbidden places
All your tales untold
Give me ever and always
Ever and always
Body and soul
Heaven and hope eternal
Over your heart of gold
Sun and sunset
Burning in the flame you hold
Ever and always
Give me ever and always
Body and soul
Yesterday
Today
Tomorrow
Body and soul
Give me ever the years you wept inside when cold
All the sins and secrets never cried
All the dreams you kept and the tears you sold
Give me Give me ever and always
Ever and always
Body and soul
Your heart
Your mind
Your body and soul
I know that many people may disagree, but, in my opinion, this is their most consistent release. Every track from it is a killer, and the atmospheres are stunning. It makes me wonder why the band themselves overlook this record and why it has never been re-released. Even the (excellent) video for "Body and Soul" is ignored by them. Perhaps the whole lot was too "Gothic" - in the true sense of the word - for Andrew. If some rumours are to be believed, the original title mooted for "First and Last and Always" circa 1984 was "Disguised in Black"... .
Many thanks for the upload. Now if only there were some good 'ol record fairs around my locality... I'd love to get this vinyl, i adore train and afterhours.
When people had back patches of metal bands I had the cover of this record on my jacket. Made me a lot of friends and a few enemies. Great band back in the day. Rise and reverberate.
Man! Afterhours is fucking dark and disturbing. I love the touch of the western/surf guitar and the pulsating bass beat. I can definitely see how Suicide had an influence on this band; not just with the vocalist voice, but their use of the drum machine.
they were one of, if not the best, singles band of the decade (though New Order comes pretty close). this is one of my favourite 12" singles that I own. whoever thought to use that Doré carving and turn it blue (probably Eldritch) deserves a medal for keen graphic design....and of course the tracks are killer, some of the best from TSOM
