Incredibly haunting, one of my favourite songs of Björk.

The late English composer Sir John Tavener said this particular work of Bjork had an expressive power to rival Schubert. Wonderful that both artists collaborated on Prayer of the Heart.

Björk-An echo, a stain She touched My arm And smiled One of these days Soon Very soon Love you 'til then Love you 'til then Feel my breath On your neck And your heart Will race Don't say no to me You can't say no to me I won't see you Denied I'm sorry you saw that I'm sorry he did it An echo A stain A stain I can't say no to you (I can't say no to you) Say nothing Free falling Complete

Choruses are intregal parts of the song, much as a good plot is to a movie.

the lyrics of this song are actually inspired by the play Crave by Sarah Kane

I heard this song was inspired by/based off the play "Crave" by Sarah Kane? Very cool!

There isn't any story behind this song as far as I know, which is unusual for a Björk song and fitting for one so mysterious. I love re-listening to the song with that perspective I'm not sure if about the false person idea as this is such a intense song I feel the idea of just a mere infraction doesn't do it justice. It would have to be something major something shattering. I've heard the idea of a near death experience as the genesis for the song that feels more right to me.

How to categorize this song..... electro? ethereal? I think Bjork is in a category all of her own......

For those who don't know, the text is all drawn from Sarah Kane's play "Crave". Cool way to use the material!

The level of addiction generated by this song is just undescribable.

Orchestra swells are one of my favorite things in songs, when used right. I wish they were more common.
