Carmen McRae - 'Round Midnight download song

I have never heard these different lyrics. A true Legend.

There seems to be more than one version of lyrics! I like the way Carmen points to us when she sings: "Life is a game of chance, and you're one of the minor players...."

Carmen McRae is in my top 5 jazz artists for sure

It does get any better than this, All other must measure up.

She is so - intelligent, I can't find another word - she always gets to the most precise emotion in every word she utters

I never got to hear her in person, but I did go to a Dizzy Gillespie concert at the Carter Barron Amphitheater on Colorado Avenue in Washington, D C in 1987.  Definitely makes the top 10 greatest musical experiences of my life!  I grew up with both Gillespie's and McCrae's music.  When was this first televised?  1963?

What a singing lesson! no breath sounds, fully acted down to the pauses, Carmen didn't get the coverage Sarah and Ella received, but for me, the ultimate master of emotive phrasing.
