This wonderful recording by the Ames Brothers in 1954 reignited the recording career of banjoist Eddie Peabody on Dot Records with his first Dot LP release being titled "Man With The Banjo". Seventeen more LP's followed. ...Johnny Thorson ("Captain Banjo")

The Ames Brothers were among my Dad's favorite pop singers back in the 50s.  It is wonderful to hear this again and "You, You, You."

Boy, this one brings back memories. This recording inspired me to learn to play the banjo.

I was also 7 when this was a hit in ‘54. another forgotten great. one of the last “pop” hits before the advent of rock’n’roll. in ‘55 I was at summer camp when Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock” was released. The counselors played it non-stop on the camp’s PA system

Thank you Tom Smith who posted this song back in 2009, and loved this song when in first grade and I would play it over and over. I don't know how my parents and siblings coped, but in these anxious time with the COVID-19 pandemic this song takes me to a meditative place of peace and calm.

Those violins in the background that typified so many vocals in the later '40's and earlier 50's. Absolutely beautiful mix with their vocals. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE MEMORY-RECALLING SONGS!

When times were much more carefree and innocent, the real 50's.

So smooth, so professional, so talented!  The Ames Brothers had it all. The people of the world should have treated them as equals, but they didn't. I don't want this to be a race rant, but the double standard that existed was so wrong. Thanks Brothers, you survived the mistreatment and still entertained us.
