wow,.. I always heard this song on radio and records. I was born in the early 1960's and didn't really get into music until I was about 9 or 10 years old,.. this song still had radio play around the early 70's and yeah, it's kinda corny in its presentation but that's what the mid 60's were back then(before 1967). always liked the lyrics and tune is very mellow. To me this song is like a time capsule when life was different and composed compared to the anarchy which has followed a few years later and stayed ever since. But sometimes in life memories are just enough to put a smile on your face to know that at one point life was fine
CAN'T BELIEVE HOW CORNY THESE GUYS WERE, BUT THEY ARE STILL BETTER THAN HALF OF THE GROUPS OUT THERE TODAY. GOOD SONG TOO. I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE I'M JUST STUCK IN THE 60'S. NOT A BAD PLACE TO BE ACTUALLY.
I used to hear this song on a transistor radio in the 60's in Hartford , Connecticut. I never really knew the lyrics but have hummed it all my life when in a certain mood. I always assumed the lyrics would be about a kind of sad day - like, it's rainy and so no one came to the park. Such a sweet moment in time. Thanks Cyrkle and David Blume music and Jerry Keller - lyrics.
