This is dedicated to the one I love
While I’m far away from you, my baby
I know it’s hard for you, my baby
Because it’s hard for me, my baby
And the darkest hour is just before dawn
Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love
Life can never be exactly like we want it to be
I can be satisfied just knowing that you love me There’s only one thing I want youto do especially for me And it’s something that everybody needs
Each night before you go to bed, my baby
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby
And tell all the stars above
This is dedicated to the one I love

Michelle has a sweet voice, and it' nice to hear her sing alone for a bit. But man, once Cass plows in, lol, that's it. The song becomes her's as usual.
I’m gonna put this song in one of the episodes of my film, where a girl is singing this with her hairbrush and getting all happy about going to see her boyfriend. But upon getting to his house, when the last chorus hits at 1:26, it turns jnto slow motion as she finds out he’s busy with another girl. She then runs away and on her bike back home, where she has a breakdown to a slowed down version of Flashing Lights by Kanye West... but thats another story for another comment section
So glad Michelle got her "moment." Her voice, so soft and comforting. The perfect complement for Cass' flawless voice. Michelle epitomizes the love generation. Everything about her is so perfectly '60s peace power and love joy.
I hate the polarisation of these comments. Cass had a power-house voice and she went on to have a sadly short-lived but well-respected solo career. That did not mean Michelle could not sing. She could. She had/has a sweet, pretty, low voice, which definitely contributed to that laid-back summer sound which was trade-mark Mamas and Papas. She was just as much a mama as Cass was.
