Now your thinkin' bout it
Girl your thinkin' bout it
What we got here
How we f*ckin' got here
They recognize
They just recognize
I’m in a life without a home
So this recognitions not enough
I don’t care about nobody else
Cause I’ve been on these streets way too long
Baby I’ve been on this too long
Cause getting faded too long
Got me on this rolling stone
So I take another hit
Kill another serotonin
With a hand full of beans
And a chest full of weed
Got me singing bout a b*tch
While I’m blowing out my steam
Yea I know I got my issues
Why you think I f*ckin' flow?
And I’ma keep on smoking 'til
I can’t hit another note
Oooo, but until then
I got you, ooooo
Baby I got you, ooooo
Until you’re used to my face
And my mystery fades
I got you
So baby love me
Before they all love me
Until you won’t love me
Because they all left me
I’ll be different
I think I’ll be different
I hope I’m not different
And I hope you’ll still listen
But until then
Baby I got you
I got you
Girl I still got you
I got you
WIth his fans rejecting his "daytime music", this song makes sense now.
"So, baby, love me, oh
Before they all love me
Until you won't love me, oh
Because they'll all love me, ooh
I'll be different, oh
I think I'll be different, ooh
I hope I'm not different, oh
And I hope you'll still listen"
Well, our boy predicted this.
LYRICS:
Ooh
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Now you're thinkin' 'bout it
Girl you're thinkin' 'bout it
What we got here
How we fuckin' got here
They recognized
They just recognize
I'm in a life without a home so this recognition's not enough
I don't care about nobody else
'Cause I've been on these streets way too long, too long, too long
Baby, I've been on this too long
'Cause getting faded too long
Got me on this rolling stone
So I take another hit
Kill another serotonin
With a hand full of beans
And a chest full of weed
Got me singing 'bout a bitch
While I'm blowing out my steam
Yeah, I know I got my issues
Why you think I fuckin' flow?
And I'ma keep on smoking 'til I can't hit another note
Ooh, but until then
I got you, ooh
Baby, I got you, ooh
Until you're used to my face
And my mystery fades
I got you, ooh
So, baby, love me, oh
Before they all love me
Until you won't love me, oh
Because they'll all love me, ooh
I'll be different, oh
I think I'll be different, ooh
I hope I'm not different, oh
And I hope you'll still listen
But until then
Baby, I got you, ooh
I got you, oh, ohh
Girl, I still got you, oh-ohh
And I got you, ooh, woah
“I’m in a life without a home so this recognition is not enough, and I don’t care about nobody else cuz I’ve been on these streets for too long” this summarizes the entire song. He’s pretty much saying that the underground fame that he has is not working out for him because he’s not getting enough money because his “recognition” is not enough and he is going to be moving from underground to mainstream and is telling his underground fans that he will always love them and remember them and wants them to stay with him even though he’s gonna sell himself for money because he needs and wants more money. There’s a little more to it but I can’t really explain it; you guys need to me real fans to understand his art
People don’t realize this song is foreshadowing Abel’s whole career. “I think I’ll be different” and yes he is different, but he’s still fire. And I’ll still listen.
For y'all who don't know the foreshadowing the girl behind him represents his old fans notice how in the beginning abel and the girl are dark because he was underground and mysterious, the girl holding him back because they don't want anyone to know their mysterious artist till later he starts rising up and it gets brighter notice how the flashing(mainstream) gets brighter and Abel does too that's because every one knows him and his old fans (the girl) left because they got used to his face and is no longer mysterious but he does say "baby i still got you" meaning he will still probably release more songs like this one .
“I want to thank you for listening and being patient for as long as you have,” he wrote on his website. “No matter what an artist’s ego clouds them to believe, you are the reason why I have been able to continue to do what I love to do and that is to entertain you. My journey for inspiration may seem like masochism to others who have not been given the task to make art, but best believe it brings me nothing but joy.”
Writing about the ‘Rolling Stone’ video, he added: “Because I am a man of few words, I chose to make a viral video to show you how I felt and where I stand. I usually don’t like to ‘spoon feed’ my audience because I grew up idolising story tellers who tell stories using symbolism, so it was in my nature to do the same. The Rolling Stone video takes place in a dimly lit studio which represents the two worlds I have been stuck in. The gloomy side represents the mainstream world while the other side represents the underground. The girl holding on represents you.”
