Well, I remember when we were young
And you said that I was done
Well, I walked the long boulevard
My head hanging down
And the word out on the street
I was back up on my feet
I was fighting the same old wars
Had to even up the score
And I’m still alive and I will survive
I can take what life’s got to give
Just need a little time
And I’m still alive, talking that some ol' jive
I can handle what comes my way
Just gimme another day
And the times have changed my friend
I’ll be here to the bitter end
With a guitar in my hand I stand a little taller
And I’ve been to hell and back
I ain’t falling off this track
From the back to the front page
From the gutter to the stage
And I’m still alive and I will survive
I can take what life’s got to give
Just need a little time
And I’m still alive, talking that some ol' jive
I can handle what comes my way
Just gimme another day
And from town to town I roam
Take me so very far from home
And I woke up one summer day and I fell in love
And the times have changed, my friend
I’ll be here to the bitter end
And I’m here to make my stand
With a guitar in my hand
And I’m still alive and I will survive
I can take what life’s got to give
Just need a little time
And I’m still alive, talking that some ol' jive
I can handle what comes my way
Just gimme another day
Another day
I was influenced by my sisters when I was 9 in 1989 listening to Social D and I want to add that every album was always good work and the fact that every Social D album comes with plenty of good songs is why they are so kick ass and legendary and of course have proven timeless, loved by not one but a few generations because writing good songs for this band just kept coming in every album they made and they are just artists and they probably got some help from the man above us, so many lyrics relating to his faith, kept showing respect to God in a lot of songs and who knows if that's why they lasted for so long, shows that if you can give respect respect will come back for you right back and take care of you. The honesty, the commons I have with so many titles and lyrics is crazy too and no other band can compare and I thank those guys for staying with us through all these different times and always take care and kick ass once again and I hope they continue to live even longer.
Just short of celebrating my 60th Birthday now and still love Mike Ness & Social Distortion's music as much today, if not more than i did at the very beginning,
My 4 Grown up kids were basically brainwashed with Social Distortion music and my 6 Grandchildren also have a liking for a bit of Social Distortion on the car CD player...."Music just does not get any better than this"...
oh man, this brings me back to my first concert. less than a month ago but I'll never forget it. Stil Alive was the first song they played and it now holds a place in my heart
I love this song I'm 39 and have been listening to social distortion since I was 5 they are such a amazing band and have always been a amazing band they write great songs that anyone can relate to and have helped so many of us get through hard times there music is amazing and I am so thankful for there music Because I might not be here if I had not heard there music so much emotion and passion behind every song such a beautiful song and a amazing band
I remember listening to this song while I was looking down on my window thinking how fast would be the fall. I've never done it, I'm still alive!
Thank you SD
